Biography: A Guided Tour Of Your Tour Guide
Hello! My name’s Adam and I am an award-winning, qualified tour guide. I have been leading guided walking tours in London since 2005.
Since April 2020 I have also added Virtual Tours to the repertoire.
I’m qualified as a Westminster Guide (with distinction) and since 2019 I’ve been a visiting lecturer in tour guiding at the University of Westminster. I’m a former national newspaper arts journalist and in my spare time I play guitar and sing and buy too many records.

London Music Tours
In 2018 I founded London Music Tours to combine his twin passions of storytelling and music. Music has always been a big part of my life. I acquired his first 45rpm record in 1972 (UK No.1 Mouldy Old Dough by Lieutenant Pigeon), was gifted my first Beatles album in 1977 (Beatles for Sale) and the first album I bought with my own money was Zenyatta Mondatta by The Police. I play guitar and sing and I’m currently taking piano lessons.
Qualifications & Career
In 2019 I qualified as a City Of Westminster Tour Guide (with Distinction) and soon after became a visiting lecturer in tour guiding at the University of Westminster.
In 2022 I joined the newly-founded London Heritage Training company as a tour guiding tutor.
Prior to being a professional tour guide, I was a journalist. My work as an arts journalist, critic and columnist was published in The Independent and The Evening Standard among many other titles.

On my London Walks tours I cover the capital from Kensington to Mile End and Muswell Hill to Crystal Palace. Virtual Tours
When the pandemic struck in 2020 I found myself in the vanguard of virtual tour guiding. My efforts and innovations on Zoom and various streaming platforms were recognised when I was nominated as a Visit England Tourism Superstar Finalist in 2022.
Any Other Business?
I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and I have been a Londoner since 1992. As well as playing music I am a keen amateur photographer, snapping London on my regular 15-20 mile London rambles. I lives in North London with my wife Karen (also a tour guide), my daughter and my record collection.
